Why We Built This Site
Connecticut gives the public broad access to many court records, but New Haven County records are not kept by one county courthouse office. The Superior Court handles civil, family, criminal, housing, motor vehicle, divorce, and small claims matters through judicial districts and geographical area courts. Probate Courts handle estates, trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, and related local probate matters. Town and city clerks handle marriage certificates and local vital records. DOC handles inmate information, and federal courts use PACER or CM/ECF. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee notes, and request steps for those separate systems.

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Connecticut court, Superior Court Chief Clerk's Office, Probate Court, city clerk, town clerk, DOC office, DMV office, federal court, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document, Probate Court file, divorce decree, marriage certificate, or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
